These trips have not only been a quest for introspection and being in the right place for a perfect sunrise shoot but also a learning into the art of car camping.

Budget: Coleman Brazos 20 Sleeping Bag – Budget-friendly and highly rated. Roomy design.

Nice: Coleman Kompact 30 Sleeping Bag – Packs up small and keeps you warm. Roomy design.

Luxury: The North Face Eco Trail – Roomy rectangular design and fully recycled fabric!

Blankets

Budget: Arcturus Military Wool Blanket– Budget-friendly and highly rated. Warm and soft.

Nice: Pendleton Yakima Camp Throw – High quality, warm, and beautiful. Pure virgin wool/cotton.

Luxury: Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket – Ultra-lightweight, warm 600-fill-power duck down. Cozy up at the campfire too. My favorite.

Kitchen and Campfire Essentials for Auto Camping

Stoves

Budget: Coleman Gas Classic Camping Stove – An affordable, portable, two-burner stove. I have used this one for a long time and it is a workhorse.

Nice: Camp Chef Everest 2x – Always the top choice in camp stove reviews. Many of my friends have this one. Strong burners, works well in windy conditions, and spreads heat evenly.

Luxury: Camp Chef Pro 16 Cooking System – I have used this one lately and love it! Powerful 2-burner stove. Built-in leg levelers, and folding legs for easy portability. Perfect for tailgating too!

Camping Cook Sets

Budget: Lodge LCC3 Cast Iron Set – It is a deep skillet, a fryer, or a Dutch oven, and the lid converts to a shallow skillet or griddle.

Nice: MSR Quick 2 Camping Cook Set – Multipurpose, as this is a great one for backpacking too. If you have limited space this is the one.

Luxury: Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set – Everything the chef needs to cook an outdoor meal. This 11-piece stainless steel set also nests together to save space.

Coolers

Budget: RTIC Ultra-Light 52 Quart Hard Cooler – Engineered to deliver ice retention performance without the weight. The perfect camping cooler.

Nice: Yeti Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler – It is not a secret Yeti coolers are expensive, but there is a reason they do so well in reviews. High-quality and consistent insulation. Wheels for ease of moving!

Luxury: Domestic CFX3 Electric Cooler – This one is on my wish list. No ice is needed, power is via AC, DC, or solar. Refrigerate or deep freeze.

Camp Tables

Budget: Coleman Outdoor Compact Folding Table – Ultra-compact folding table. Easy to set up and take down. I used this one for years.

Nice: Camp Chef Mesa Camp Table – Collapsible for compatibility, light, and my favorite feature – legs adjust table height from 27″ to 39″.

Luxury: GSI Outdoor Master Portable Cook Station – One-piece design with hassle-free setup and breakdown. Features include extended countertops, lower rack storage, 3 side tables, a telescoping lantern pole, and a soft-shell sink. Folds flat for transporting.

Camp Chairs

Budget: Front Runner Expander Chair – None of these chairs are really budgeted as the cheap chairs I have bought, I feel have cost me more due to poor quality and having to replace them all the time. This front-runner chair is highly durable, compact, and comfortable.

Nice: Helinox Chair One – Lightweight, compact, and sturdy. Can be used for backpacking too. I own and use this one if tight on space and for backpacking.

Luxury: Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair – OK, this chair is not cheap and I don’t have (yet) but I have used one and understand what all the hype is and 5-star reviews.

Power and Light Camping Essentials

Power

Budget: Anker Powerhouse 90 – This unit is compact and can be used for air travel and backpacking too. I own this one and use this when compatibility is needed.

Nice: Jackery Portable Power Station 300 – Best entry-level portable power station option. Can be charged with an outlet, car charger, or solar panel.

Luxury: Goal Zero Yeti 500X – Power anything, anywhere from portable fridges to phones. This is great for overlanding and camping.

Lighting

Budget: Coast EAL 22 Duel Color Lantern – Foldable handles and dual carabiners on top and bottom allowing it to be hung overhead. Five light modes.

Nice: Goal Zero Lighthouse Lantern – Powerful lantern with a rechargeable battery via electricity or hand crank.
